At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ushuaia and drive you to the starting point of the Laguna Esmeralda trek. Ready to dive into the incredible landscapes of Argentine Patagonia? This is a must-do activity in Tierra del Fuego!
When you book this trip, we'll provide all the gear you need for the hike, like trekking poles and crampons. You can even choose the equipment that best suits your fitness level and experience, so there's nothing to worry about. Just don't forget your own clothes and shoes suitable for mountain walking!
Once you're all set, you'll have 4 hours of free time to hike at your own pace. To make sure you don't miss a thing, we recommend crossing the Tierra Mayor Valley and the Esmeralda River Valley, two glacial landscapes that will leave you speechless. Along the way, you'll also get to spot the unique plants and wildlife of the Fuegian forest.
When you reach Laguna Esmeralda, its beautiful green waters will captivate you from start to finish. We promise it's worth the effort! Here, you can take a break, grab a bite nearby, or simply admire the view.
Finally, we'll be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Ushuaia, where our services will wrap up 7 hours later.
Equipment Rental
When you book, you can choose between 2 options:
- Tour without hiking equipment rental: in this case, you'll need to bring your own gear, or you can rent it on the day of the activity. Renting poles and crampons costs 10,000 ARS (US$ 6.55) per person.
- Tour with hiking equipment rental: if you choose this option, all the gear you need is included.
Important Info
To take part in this activity, you'll need to wear waterproof pants, a jacket, and trekking boots. You'll also need to bring a backpack and water, and we recommend gloves, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Keep in mind that the trail has a moderate difficulty level, so some basic fitness is required.
